I vaguely remember there being some take a while ago about allowing MeGui to use the new features found in .NET 3.5 (lambdas and all that). I'm just wondering if it was decided if that was allowable or if it's sticking with .NET 2.0 compatiblity for the moment.

There is two levels though, .net 3/3.5 and c#3.0. Lambdas are just a language feature aren't they, so .net 3.5 isn't needed, but VS2005 wouldn't build it.
Not sure either way though.

Probably a good idea to install 3.5 if you haven't already anyway, its an extension to 2 & 3, and doesn't replace them. It does however, update net 2 & 3 to sp1, otherwise these .net service packs (different to windows service packs) would have to be downloaded separately.

Just do what I do... Install it all and deal with it...

What i was trying to ask (rather badly) was that if i'm developing new features for MeGUI, can i use non-.NET 2.0 features. i.e. the new lanuages features like automatic properties etc in .NET 3.0/3.5. (I can never remember which version contains the new features and which is the snap-on back, so forgive me if i got it wrong in the previous post).
Most importantly, if i wanted to give MeGUI extensive commandline support, could i use: http://www.jprl.com/Blog/archive/development/ndesk.options/2008/Jan-27.html

net 3.5 will exclude win2000 users. so, it's better wait.

Fair enough, that's all i wanted to know. I was hoping to use this as a good excuse to get familiar with the .NET 3.5 features, ah well!
