It tough to gather from the posts in this forum what the actual rate of success when running DVD2SVCD, that is not crashing (and not as a result of users' mistakes). Obviously much of the problems revolve around CCE. But what percentage of users are actually having problems?

It would be interesting to know of forum readers: What percentage of each users' attempts at DVD backups are successful (ie, do not crash)?

< 5% (essentially always fails)
5-25% (mostly unsuccessful)
25-75% (successful about half of the time)
75-95% (almost always successful)
> 95% (essentially always successful)

Also it would be interesting to know which version of the program people are using (still using).

1.02Builds
1.03Builds
1.04Builds
1.05Builds
1.06PreBuilds

Anyone can start a poll the option is there once you hit new thread.
Only a mod or higher can make it sticky.

BTW If you are not using the current version and have problems most people will not help you. It's just too difficult to keep track of all the problems, programs and fixes for each build. I mean 1.02 had something like 14 builds to it.

That would be a good idea, if it weren't for the fact that most users who hasn't problems doesn't come to this forum. So if you made a poll, it would probably rate very high on crash %, and that would make me feel misrably and I'd probably quit it all together.

No No never quite I don't have any problems with CCE at all. Works perfect for me. So you see even if everyone else in the world has problems with it I don't. Isn't that enough to keep you going?
:D

@Dvd2svcd

I don't have any crashing problems Either.
I read the posts every day,
1: to learn more
2: help if I can.
3: to follow your progress in making an excellent program even better.

I agree whole heartedly with Markrb.
it would be a very sad day indeed without your efforts.

I agree with Slick and markrb: I have never had a crash and I read this forum every day.

However, I still cannot figure out how to post a poll and I would never want to hurt DVD2SVCD's feelings anyway. Therefore, I leave it up to DVD2SVCD to post a poll if he wants to.

When you click on new thread the last option is a checkbox that says yes it's a poll. It has a box that you enter in the number of options or choices you are giving the people to choose from.

I forget the rest of it.

I also have had great sucess with DVD2SVCD and still use the forums to keep up on the latest developments and help out when I can.

This is a very user friendly program that does what it says it will do.

I have a huge collection of movies, which I started in 1984. Over 3000 on VHS, 95 on Laser Disc, 250 on DVD and now about 30+ on SVCD (and growing...).
I own 7 SVHS VCRs, 1 Laser Disc Player, 3 DVD players, always on the hunt for better quality. Did I mention my 32" TV, where even the slightest "glitch" shows?
I tried several VCD and SVCD bundles (being afraid to start a SVCD from scratch and spend countless hours watching bars progress - I have to work for all those toys...) and I have to say, this is the absolute Best!

The "problems" I had (Need I emphasize HAD?) were mostly based on my inadequacy, were easy to solve (Thank you all), , and they were solved HERE
Ok, I had my share of unexplained phenomena, but I succeeded in 99.5 of my backups. But I still visit the forum often to learn new developments, improvement tweaks and see how others deal with issues that I encounter, but dismissed, feeling too iexperienced or embarassed to even mention them.

Always in debt, DVD2SVCD!
How about a poll for COMPLETELY Satisfied Users???
