How is everyone encoding to AAC? Can you only do it through Nero or iTunes? Can I encode with EAC?

FAAC is an open-source AAC encoder, though its not very good. Nero's probably the most popular.

Oh alright. I must be able to do it through megui then :thanks:
Anyone know if there's a Q level like q7 for ogg that offers best quality versus size?
Going to be getting a Sony S618 MP3 player soon and I own Ety ER6i earphones...doing a little research.

I use Coding Technologies (CT's) AAC-LC/HE encoder... Together with BeLight as the encoding "front-end" application.
It's very good indeed...

I second SeeMoreDigital's thoughts, Belight is what I use.

I use this software (http://www.convert-any-media.com) cause i used to use it. (Sorry for such sentence :) )
But agree with Dark Shikari, nero can do such too.

I prefer BeHappy for "front-end", and prefer both CT and Nero AAC, because CT make better resilts than nero in movie audio encodings especialy multichannel, and Nero can produce better quality than CT on short footage like normal songs

I still use iTunes, although I do so via EAC accessing iTunesEncode (which allows for the filenames to remain intact and not end up getting truncated).

Yes, you can run Nero AAC encoder through EAC. That's what I use for my CD extracted tracks since it has much better accuracy than iTunes.
