Ok, my current desktop is an old piece of trash, let me put it this way, its a Pentium 3, uses PC133 SDRAM and even has an ISA card in it, so there is no way this thing can handle HD video.

I am planning to build a new desktop but that could be a long time from now.

However, I recenetly got a cheap laptop that I am sure will more than perform well enough for the job, problem is I can't find any capture hardware for it.

I am looking for a capture device that will plug in by USB (So I can use it both in my laptop and future desktop) and can capture at least 720p through component, if possible HDMI too, but component is what is important to me. It would be nice if it could do 480p and 480i too though.

All the USB devices I have found are RF/S-Video/Composite-only. The only Component devices I could find, and these were rare, were PCI. I couldent find any that were even PCMIA...

Does any USB-based capture device that can capture HD resolutions exsist? Or at the very least, PCMIA?

Mainly, I want it to record gameplay footage from my 360, PSP, and when I get one my PS3. The PSP can only output gameplay video in 480p through component.
