Why use bbmpeg for this?

Aside of excellent cutting, is there any other advantages to using bbmpeg?

Muxed mpegs (for svcd) are smaller then muxed with TMPGenc.

And it says if your bitrate is to low, underflow or some thing like that(it means your mpeg is not a suitable svcd)

Why use bbMPEG ? Strange question when you don't suggest any other tool instead ?

Well, as far as I'm concerned, I use it for its muxing speed, progress bar while muxing (makes you believe it's getting faster...), precise cutting functionality, easy to use parameters, and informative window (when underflows occur).

Well, damn, now that I read what I just wrote, I just discovered I love bbMpeg :D

By the way, I also use a tool called bbdemux (DOS command line) for demuwing, which is quite fast (no progress bar though...)

Have fun

I think it is proper to say that it is a robust and matured tool. TMPGenc has problems cutting. When muxing it gives you all sorts of options that may or may not be important to you. It allows you to specify audio and video offset. It's hard to complain about it.

The only thing I'd like to see is that it could be a standalone function but that is really pretty unimportant.

I have found bbmpeg to be very good. i only had one problem with it. with one movie i made it refused to muliplex it...it would just finish checking the audio and then stop. but that hasnt happened since...

I didn't suggest any other tool because other people told me to "never mind other programs, just use bbmpeg because it's the best"

And it works well, because I have had absolutely NO problems with any svcd's I have done.

I appreciate your help everyone, thanks :)

I have an m1v and mp2 file that I would like to mux using bbmpeg.

How long should it take? The file is 44 minutes long

When I tried it, it took 1 1/2 hours to do. Seems like an awfully
long time to mux.

I have an Thunderbird 1.2 gig with 512 megs RAM. I would have thought
it would take a lot less time to mux a 45 minute file.

Any suggestions of what I may be doing wrong?

Definitely you are doing something wrong. To mux 2 hour movie for me takes about 5-10 minutes (I never looked at the clock).
Read the doom9 guide, how to mux with bbMpeg.

Same for me. BB is a fast, easy and reliable tool. Never had a problem :)

I can't seem to locate the bbmpeg guide. Just looked in the guides section and I couldn't find it.

Can you give me the exact link?

Thanks
