I have found out that there is a compatibility problem with with the WMVideo Decoder DMO filter on some VC-1 encoded HD DVDs. For example, I get the following quality of video in the first 3 minutes (pics 1 -3), and then another corruption at 7 minutes (pic 4) in Unforgiven HD DVD.
I was told to use Sonic Video filters, and it does work in playback, but what I'm trying to do is transcode to Divx using Taktaal's guide in the "Encode EVO HD files to AVI/MKV/MP4/MPG 1/2 etc.?" thread.
When I try to use Sonic's Cinemaster Video Decoder 4.2 in GraphEdit, TMPEnc 4.4.1.237 freezes up with high CPU usage for sevral minutes, the says this in the preview window: DirectShowSource: Timeout waiting for graph to start (D:\ouput1.avs, line 1).
In output1.avs, my one and only line is: DirectShowSource("output1.grf", fps=23.976, framecount=187989, audio=false)
In my output1.grf I am using Haali Media Splitter --> Sonic Cinemaster Video Decoder 4.2
If I use ffdshow Video Decoder (v1805) insted of Sonic Cinemaster Video Decoder 4.2 in output1.grf, whether it's set to libavcodec or wmv9, it loads fine, but give me the same video corruption as using WMVideo Decoder DMO.
Funny thing was, when I used ffdshow Video Decoder (v1576) set to libavcodec, the movie transcoded okay in TMPEnc 4.4.1.237 but it looked like there were dropped frames. I was hoping when I updated to the latest ffdshow, that would take care of the problem. But now, as I said, ffdshow is doing the same thing as WMVideo Decoder DMO.
It seems that using the Sonic decoder is going to be my only chance to get this to work, but how?
Other movies have worked well, only taking about 5 hours to encode in 720p using Divx 6.7 SMP codec.
Anyone know know how I can use the Sonic filters in GraphEdit to render the video to TMPEnc 4.4.1.237? Thanks in advance!
