We're getting some Sony BWU-200S burners in next month, as we're going to start beta testing short-run BD production and I was wondering if Nero is suitable to drive the burner, and if so, which version is up to the task.

Thanks for your attention on this.

I have the Burner myself and Nero 7.10 updated with the Blu-Ray PlugIn does work perfectly with Blu-Ray Copying and Blu-Ray Burning.

Good to hear that they've been supporting BD for a while. Thanks. I guess Nero 8 should be good to go then as well.

What UDF version do you use? Should it be the latest UDF 2.x for BDMV discs?

any format disc i have seen works very well, but may i add, there will be a firmware update to correct Blu-Ray to play the new burnt discs.

P.S its 2.50 if u have rebooted Nero 7 it should come up.

I have been reading conflicting information about firmware on set top players. Some say the new BD+ will make these players only capable of reading titles with encryption (bad for wedding and event videographers who deliver on BD!). Others say that some firmware updates have made formerly unreadable BD-R discs playable. I don't know what to believe. In the long run, I hope Sony doesn't screw the pooch on this one.

UDF 2.5 it is, then.

Thanks!
