Hi,
does anybody know a converter, which can handle single vob files and also has an auto crop function? i've tried nero recode, but i'm wondering if it is a good solution....
i want to convert the files, so i can play them on my pc and an appletv.
so if nero recode (version 8.2.8.0) should be a good solution, which profile shoud i use?

It's generally not the "best" idea to ask what's "best" in places like these; disputes known throughout the forum community as "flame wars" often erupt, leading to chaos and community damage. ;)
There are many solutions, some of which work better for others. Depends on how exactly you want things done--some people would only be satisfied with XviD output, where Recode is useless. Some people just whip the vob into VdubMPEG2 and hit process. There's a myriad of ways, to be sure. You'll have to try 'em out and decide, I suppose.

ok, so i have an other question: how do i know which bitrate to use for a movie?
of course it depends on the resolution, but is there any way to find out, what resolution i should select for a certain file?
if i import a file in nero recode, nero will set a bitrate after importing. is this one recommened by nero?

@lixe
You keep asking what is "best", even after you've been told not to, per forum rule 12. I am editing your title and posts. Please read and follow the forum rules.

USE CRF instead of bitrate. Start with 22
