Doom9

I read the news page about people reporting invalid or corrupt files. A lot of people are getting Win XP which has a file compression tool for opening *.zip. I downloaded "ASPI.zip" and get the error message that it is invalid or corrupt when using Win XP default zip opener so I tried to open it with "winZip" before posting and it works just fine. I just thought you might want to know that.

And also to anyone, I have given up on doing multi pass. My hardware just can't do it without CCE crashing so I was looking for some good settings for a 1 pass. What really sucks is I gave the link to this site (which is asome!!) to a friend and he can do a 5 pass if he wishes and gets perfect DVD rips every time and has never cashed once! But I accept the fact that my hardware just can't do it and have tried everything posted so I'm looking for good 1 pass settings. Oh in case your wondering what Hardware I have, I will list it:

1.4GB Athlon
512mb of DDR SDRAM PC2100
80GB Maxtor HD

The only diferance between our systems is that we have diferent Mother boards and different Ram. He has the 512mb of the slower SDRAM PC133.

Also I am thinking about buying a DVD burner for the sole purpose of backing up DVD's. I'm really into anime which is mostly interlaced and hard for me to back up. I've been looking at a HP on Ebay for $400 but wanted to ask on the fourm before making such investment. What formats must it accept? ie DVD-R, DVD+R, ect ect.

That sofware "DVD decrypter" looks very interesting to me.

Anyway sorry for the long rambeling and misspelled post but it 5 in the morning and I can't sleep

where you got aspi.zip... It should be forceaspi17.rar. rar and zip are different ones, and there are plenty of informations about rar files and its advantages in the net.

there are not so many difference (if any) between 1passVBR_with Qfactor=1 and CBR. All you need to do is: checkmark TemporalSmoother, use 3 CDrs if the movie is bigger than 100 minutes, set max bitrate=2400, and max avg=2400.

btw: edit your subject. It doesn't have any sence here.
