I am still quite n00bish when it comes to video and audio encoding and the one thing that gives me fits the most is bitrate calculators. I am using WME 9 to encode a 720p video with wma pro 5.1 surround and am using VBR to enocde. My question is when I have a variable bit rate how do I calculate it to get it to the ideal file size? :thanks:

It doesn't really matter wether you encode using VBR or CBR, the bitrate is the same as long as you target a specific size.
So you enter the size you're targeting in the bitrate calculator as you always did, nothing changes.

Gordian Knot was created specifically for the purpose of calculating file output sizes.
