My work took video of a machine and had a local company make a dvd of it. Now I want to take the video and make an mpeg. It's not copyrighted or anything just a simple video. I think the want it for website or something. What can I use to convert it to mpeg or other if need be?

Hi!
How about re-reading (part) of the thread you started in June 2005?:

I re-read that post. I was only grabbing photos at that time. I don't see how that applies to grabbing video? I could be wrong though. Maybe it does the same thing and I don't see it. All I know is someone used a cam to video a running piece of equipment and had a local company make a professional dvd of it. Now I have the dvd and they want a mpeg of it. Like I said I'm not certain the original applies.
Update: On a whim I ran TMGPEnc and it gives an output of .m1v? Can I just rename that to mpeg or mpg?

For most purposes, you can just rename the .vob file to .mpg.
You can also demux the audio and video using DGIndex and then remux them into a .mpg using Imago Muxer.
