Can somebody tell me what option Dolby surround downmix in Audio\Dolby Digital mean ? Does that mean it will create a wave file which contain dolby surround signal ? Thanks.

if you activate dolby digital decoding in the audio menu, the dolby surround option will activate the dolby surround downmix.. so it turns your 5.1 channel signal into a 2.0 channel that's dolby pro logic encoded. None of my guides use dvd2avi for audio encoding so if you follow them there's no need to activate that option.

True. But in every install of Gnot I have, I noticed the "Dolby Surround Sound" option is selected. It may not be obvious to some people that the options below the seperator line applies only if the "Decode" option just above the seperator is selected.

I just have one further question towards this topic. I use the Doom9 guide for Divx 5 encoding, but I must have not been paying attention and all along I found out that I was using that "downscale' option. Now will this effect me if this is what I normally do?
I create a project file with DVD2AVI and use the 2.0 track on most DVD's, then from that file that was Demuxed, I convert with Besweet. Is this a problem?
As far as I know when I play my movies they sound fine to me, but maybe there is something wrong with doing it this way and since I am use to it my hearing doesn't know the difference since it thinks that this encoding is correct?
Thanks

Does this refer to a wav file or an AC3 file created by DVD2AVI? If you are using 'Decode' you should only get a (set of) AC3 file(s) and use them in BeSweet. Do not use the Wav file created by DVD2AVI. Or better yet, make sure DVD2AVI doesn't create a Wav file (unless you have LPCM sound)

Ya, I've been using the AC3 files and then making MP3's from that with BeSweet.
