I currently use both Recode2 and Staxrip(X264/AAC). When using Staxrip I only use 1-pass and the quality seems to be equal to or better then Recode(Cinema-AVC) using 2-pass.
The only reason I still use Recode is that some of my older videos I encoded using xvid/Mp3 hiccup in Staxrip and do not want to mux right.
My question is this:
Is Recode3 any better at quality then Recode2?
Is there a way to make it comparable to X264 using 1-pass?
Is Recode3 any better at SMP? I have a quad-core and Recode2 tops out at 75%...
