Hello Guys,

I'm in desperate need of the subtitle plugin for tcpmp 0.71 windows desktop version. I know, you probably may be asking why I need such a player in the first place. My system is old... so old that even tcpmp.win32.0.72RC1 drops many frames when playing H264(in the MKV container).
I only came to the forum as a last resort after searching the entire internet. You have NO IDEA how hard I tried to get the aac plugin(aac.plg) for desktop. Its existence has been totally erased from cyberspace except for a single active link. Well.. that's my story.

If you could be kind enough to share the subtitle plugin for tcpmp.win32.0.71h I'd be EXTREMELY grateful.

Thanks in advance,
nal

EDIT: I have no problems accepting a more efficient player than tcpmp0.71h with all the necessary plugins. :)

mplayer?

I would be surprised if there's a DirectShow player out there that performs better - the UI leaves a bit to be desired, though.

In Media Player Classic I get horrible frame rates.
The switcher which comes with Matroska is very inefficient. When I play MPC with Matroska pack, the video becomes a slide show.
I installed Matroska pack without the switchers/splitters and separately installed Morgan stream switcher. When I did that the situation improved a little, but not much.
Tcpmp 0.71h is the best. All the problems just vanished without a trace. It's so efficient that it doesn't even consume 100% cpu.

I noticed several links to subtitle-plugins for pocket pc & other mobile devices, but no Desktop version. If anyone has it then please share it.

EDIT: I even tried Coreavc Pro. Coreavc plays it without any frame drops but the video is slower than the Audio. The lag between the Audio & video just keeps getting progressive. So if you play a movie and keep it running for 5 minutes, the Audio will be at the 5 min line but the video will still be around 3 minutes.

I said mplayer (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=129909), not Media Player Classic.

Oops.. I have heard about it but never gave it a try.. untill now. It's a big improvement. I get smooth frames when there is little motion in the video. But in large variations like when the video pans/zooms, or when more than 30% of the video is in a state of motion, the frame rate drops. When the video pans the frame rate drops DRASTICALLY. In contrast I get a smooooth video in tcpmp.
Do I have to do any tweaking, Leak? I already set the priority of SMplayer to RealTime.

System ?
Cruncher, I have Intel 733 Mhz, 196mb Ram of which 8 mb is allocated to my onboard graphic card.

Yeah, apart from the processor it could be the RAM as well buzz, but... I'm getting flawless frame rates in tcpmp in this same configuration. Even I was amazed the first time I saw it. I never dreamed my system can play high resolution, high bit rate h264files that well. tcpmp is really something.

For even more performance try to avoid Smplayer GUI it costs you RAM better bind your file extensions directly to mplayer.exe.
And yes TCPMP is a nice thing i allready saw the CorePlayer in action for the Desktop (Tech Preview) and it could help you as it's even a faster framework then TCPMP was, actually it's the successor of it, sadly currently only the Mobile version is available for Purchase for Symbian and other Cellphones and i dunno when CorePlayer is gonna arrive for the Desktop now.

I noticed CorePlayer when searching for tcpmp. I too hope they release that soon. In the mean time... I hope someone shares the subtitle plugin for the tcpmp.
