ok please be gentle this is my first post ive started getting into the whole vcd thing d/l films from morpheus as avi
convert audio to pcm format using decompress.exe (part of avi2vcd)
and was using avi2vcd to create mpeg but was only processing 1-2 fps on a amd athlon 1.2 with 1gig of ram running xp
so on looking around everybody is saying tmpgenc so im giving it a go but ive got 2 problems (oh im on the latest version)

1 - as avi is encoding i can see pink blotches in odd places throughout clip - they are definately not in the original avi

2 - a lot of the avi's i have downloaded are at 20 fps (movie in avi2vcd) but all .mcf's i have seen are at 23 fps for ntscmovie

are the 2 things related - can someone suggest any solutions / where to download a good (works for you) .mcf for PAL NTSC and 20fpsMovie)

thanks

OK, I had fsked up codecs installed on my system, and i saw the same thing with pink blotches. Try reinstalling the divx codecs, as that helped me.

As far as your fps trouble, so what if avi is 20fps. BTW, are these like those shitty smr releases, if so, you should have pride and not even burn up the bandwidth dl'ing such complete disgracefull crap.

If you must ;-< then forget about what fps it is, and let tmpg convert it. When you use a template, that fps in the title is what you are going to get AFTER the encoding.

Dont worry, just try it, and see how it is.

Goto doom9's dl page, youll see a section on codecs.

Please, delete those smr's, and say 10 hail marry's, then pray you will still be allowed in video heaven!

simply for the fact, you cant get "sompin fer nuttin" boy, they take a "good" movie, and re-encode it with a fraction of the quality. they claim to have worked magic on the file, and bring you quality "nearly as good" which is bullshit! they think they are smarter then all the guys who painstakenly developed all the existing codecs that we use. They have done something special they think.

Whatever, those release's SUX!

Just my thoughts, not yours, I'm...
