Hi Friends

Can somebody explain me how can I author dvd from mkv or any other file? I mean I am using
Convertx to DVD but problem is I am not getting 5.1 channel surround sound even though mkv or any other file had ac3 audio stream file. When I watch that movie in my home theatre system, it gives me echo effect. I mean I am not getting dilogues from center speaker instead from left and right speaker, which is very annoying. I have also tried other software like Nero but still there is no good sound quality. And If I rent the same dvd from store and watch , then it gives me great sound effect even rented dvd is copied from original dvd. And as my knowledge concerned, all mkv files had ac3 sound.
So please help me , and give me software list I have to use and codecs and configuration of that codecs.

Thanks

Hi!even though mkv or any other file had ac3 audio stream file...And as my knowledge concerned, all mkv files had ac3 sound. What software and procedures did you use to create the .MKV files? And If I rent the same dvd from store and watch , then it gives me great sound effect even rented dvd is copied from original dvd. What does this mean? Do you think rental DVDs are made as burned backup copies of original pressed DVDs, or are you trying to say something else?

If you own the original DVD, why are you bothering to convert to MKV and then try to re-convert the MKV to DVD? Just make a backup copy of your original DVD.

Hey friend
Thanks for quick reply
I mean to say that I dont have any original dvd but I am downloading these files and converting them to dvd. And these files are in mkv format or avi of sometimes iso files. So in these case these files have ac3 audio stream most of the times except avi files. So when i use convertx to dvd or nero 8 ultra , i am not getting 5.1 channel sound.
I hope this makes clear

Thanks for your reply
