View Full Version : How to get a movie to stop or repeat after it plays?

Greatings! After spending a lot of time searching for "repeat" and "disc repeat" etc. and not finding a previous thread, I've decided to open a new one in hopes this isn't something that's asked a lot.

If so, I'm sorry for adding to the mess. But I did try to search, honest! :)

I'm making a copy of all my DVDs so that I can add the Volume Label information, so it the movie title will automatically be read into the directory of my Sony 400 disc changer. I've finally broke the code on how to do that using DVDshink to rip, PGCedit to enter the movie name, and then DVDshrink to burn. I typically only copy the main movie, English sound and subtitles, and don't have any menus.

However, when the movie is finished playing the player advances to the next DVD on the platter and keeps going. This is only mildly annoying if I accidentally leave the movie running and turn off the TV, only to come back the next day and realize it's played 15 or so movies while I was gone. Not a huge deal I suppose.

The biggest reason I'd like to change this is so that when my 2 year old son is watching one of his Disney movies it repeats instead of flipping to whatever might be next.

Does anyone know of a way, hopefully using my process of DVDshrink-PGCedit-DVDshrink, but any other way is helpful too, of making a DVD either stop or repeat when it's finished?

Hi and welcome.

You must have a function on your player that will allow you to play single or all discs. Have you read the manual ? I ask, because I would normally chuck it in a cupboard only to have to dig it out later.

You can always add a generic menu - unless the player will simply skip to the next disk even if there's a menu it can return to, that should solve it and without much space used on the disk.

That sounds like a good idea. Is it an easy thing to explain to me how to do? I'm pretty savy on the computer, but just learning these programs.

I'd love to be able to have a chapter selection menu on the disks. That might help. Any suggestions?
