View Full Version : AVC stream analysis for handheld playback debugging

Hi Everybody,

I am trying several settings for encoding a 32min video with x264/MeGUI for playback on a palm TX handheld with coreplayer. I did several tests on a 1min slice to find the best bitrate and encoding options providing the best quality/performance/size compromise. Then I encoded the full 32min video in 240x160, Main profile, 300kbps 2pass, 1000kbps max, with 32kbps HEv2 AAC (ND-AAC), since it worked perfectly (160% benchmark) on the 1min sample.

However, I still have a zone near the end of the video, where the sound decoding stops for approximately 15 seconds.

Is there any tool for analyzing the bitrate and other properties of the video/audio streams, to try finding the cause of this? This would be much more efficient than encoding the whole video with various settings...

Thanks!
