Im not 100 % sure, but I think you can use Auto Gordian Knot to add subtitle permantly. Press ctrl and f8 when you have open autogk and add your subtitle.

As far as I know, Auto GK does not have the capability to output in DVD format...

No worry about your post...
Remux your dvd with the added subs, use PGCEdit to state the sub You want to have always on screen by SetSTN command
