Is it possible to use ifoedit creating minidvds on cdr.
Then I would need the file outputted to 690mb and an ifo file for each file...
What is transcoding?
I have given up dvd wise and streamweaver. They want eat any of my files perfectly. Gotta try dvdit. But if ifoedit could make perfect cdr files then it would be great :)
Thanks for any help.

Transcoding is decoding/encoding. Usually (well, in practice always) the following encoding is done at a lower bitrate to minimize filesize.
When we're talking IfoEdit we want to stick a 6GB movie on a 4.38GB disc so we need to compress the videostream, e.g transcode it.

I don't think so!
Currently I'm not familiar with miniDVD format specifiactions.
Do they use IFO files too? And are the VOB files compliant to DVD VOB files ?

I think miniDVD is "same DVD structure recorded in cd media".
Take a look @ Robshot pages:

http://www.semutrangrang.com/robshot/html/saloon.html
So it's possible to use ifoedit with it.
But few standalone players can play miniDVDs. (Afreey, Sampo, etc. that has a 4x -or more- cd reading unit ). They are commonly used on PC's.
And maybe is possible to apply WZ_Man's dvd ---> 2 dvd-r method to
dvd ---> several cd-r/rw.

I have been meaning to try this.. I have a dvd that is JUST over the DVD-R limit.. I don't want to waste another dvd-r on say 700mb.. so, why not put it on a cheap cd-r?
anyone tried this yet?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.. But then again, my stand alone plays mp3 cds but not mp3 dvds... so, you never know
