What is your problem anyway?

Hi got myself in a bit of a dither there....here is the problem..

I have a Creative Encore DXR3 DVD set up in my computer...the pci card
that comes with the unit has outputs to tv-video for dvd's...I was trying to op a Divx on it but it will not recognise this format...

With the software that comes with it, is a Play-centre which will play the divx disc but will not output via the card as a Dvd disc will! it will not play the Divx disc with it's own DVD player but plays with another CD rom I have in the machine.

I was looking for a way to have the Dvd player to recognise the Divx disc...or I understand there is away to convert the Divx disc to another format which it will read.....I'm all new to this so your advise would be appreciated!

Now i understand your problem :)

There is a tool called divxplus. with this tool it shall be possible to watch divx through the mpeg card. afaik this only works with a hollywood plus card, but you could use the drivers of the hollywood plus for your dxr3 (i make it so).

get the dirvers here: http://www.sigmadesigns.com/support/downloads.htm

but i'm not sure if this works (heard of some where it does).

another solution is to convert your divx to mpeg1 (vcd) or mpeg2 (svcd). then you could use your mpeg card. but you will get a quality loss i think.

I use this combination successfully. If you do not use the H+ drivers, you can NOT use Divx +

You might want to read the "small FAQ" here (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2349).

You also might want to read this thread (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13556). I started it-and wrote in detail (further down the thread) how to get the H+ drivers working with the dxr3, using Eugene's player, which is a skinnable player for use with the hollywood + drivers...

When I get divx+ working consistently I will post that, too. I know legman is workng on divx+ as well. Read this thread (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13578) for more information...
