After installing ffdshow a few months back, I have been unable to find any definitive guides which detail the uses for it's various postprocessing functions. This post is to request information regarding each of ffdshow's functions detailing their purpose, what they do and what settings should be used for optimal visual aesthetics. I also request help in enabling ffdshow to utilise both cores of my CPU.

The forum posts about ffdshow I have read have been far too technical for me, this is not because of lack of intellect on my part, but more that the posts are beyond the reach of someone who is not well read on AV terminology. A guide in laymens terms would be more fitting to myself and others who wish to optimize ffdshow.

Thanks in advance.

Optimal visual aesthetics varies from individual to individual. In my case, I find the image looks best when I use no postprocessing at all.

The zip contains my settings. Which is spp at 2 (post processing) and increasing the saturation and changing the colour levels. Also I think all the relevant stuff (filters) are moved to the top whereas the less relevant stuff are moved towards the bottom (anything under noise is probably not relevant in terms of improving quality). If you don't like the saturation for live action just untick picture properties. You could increase spp higher but it depends on how fast your cpu is, mine can't really handle more than 2. My settings are more tailored to anime.

Note: use zip at your own risk, It's NOT a virus or anything but I don't know what it will do on someone else's computer.
