I have an AverTV USB2 - device that converts analog video into MPEG-2. I connect an NTSC VHS VCR to it, and capture using the
bundled driver and software - using the hardware MPEG-2 encoder.

The problem is that the resulting mpg, has the audio at a slower rate then the video, causing the audio to shift progressively out of sync.

Is it possible to capture using this device, but using vdub or some other software?

Any ideas how to get the audio in sync with the video?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes you only need a video editor and set the delay time of audio and then keep the audio with video at the same time and that will be Ok

Software-wise Vdub is nice to use for capturing as well as VirtualVCR. For me VirtualVCR does better keeping things in sync, especially where there are alot of 'hard breaks' and static bursts between content changes on a tape. I now have a TBC which has further cured that problem.

If you try VirtualVCR use this guide to set it up before your first capture: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture/capturing_VirtualVCR.html - their hompage also has more info on the settings.
