With Celtic Druid's 10908 build I'm getting 15 fps when encoding on a 2.4ghz dual core (-threads 2) and 17 fps on a 2.4ghz quad core (-threads 4).
With Celtic Druid's latest 11143 build there is a 2x speed increase for both scenarios, but quality is much worse, with the same command line parameters.

Any ideas? Celtic Druid - can you please explain the major speed\quality difference with your latest compile?

This is my command line:
ffmpeg.exe -y -i input.avs -vcodec mpeg2video -b 3000k -minrate 3000k -maxrate 3000k -bufsize 1835008 -r 25 -aspect 4:3 -ilme -ildct -flags +ildct+ilme+trell -top 1 -g 25 -me_method epzs -mbd 2 -bf 2 -dc 10 -er 2 -cmp 2 -subcmp 2 -threads 4 output.m2v

If I'm not mistaken, video encoding only, and will only utilize(s) 2 cores.
