Since this Fox DVD (at least the R1 version) has no newer/special copy protection, try re-ripping it using plain ol' DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4

o its because of the decripting ok.
What dose this error even mean?

I don't KNOW that it's due to the decrypting but, your description makes it sound likely...

From the DVD-RB version history:

- Corrected an error in which source filenames that are a mixture of uppercase/lowercase letters might cause "Error 0003, buffer overflow".

- Found and corrected a cause of Error #0003 and #0004. This should fix most reports associated with these errors. Note: Remember some are caused by invalid source files.

- Made a timing correction that may affect possible audio dropouts. It also may reduce (but not eliminate) the liklihood of encountering an error #0003 or #0004 on preprocessed (3rd party edited) streams.

Might give hints as to what is causing the error in your case.

It means DVD-RB has found an inconsistency in the source that is an indicator that it is corrupted. It's usually a timing issue. It is caused by a bad rip, or third party editing that wasn't properly completed.

It isn't a problem with DVD-RB... it is DVD-RB telling you that there is a problem with the source.

What version of Windows are you using?

I ripped Live Free Or Die Hard using DVDFab 4, and I also tried it with AnyDVD. Both encoded fine on my XP PC, but as will all other DVDs, I get errors on Vista.

could it be cause LFODH has multiple angles? I'm getting the same error on the same movie.

No. DVD-RB fully recognizes angles and correctly reproduces them.

OK. I re-ripped using dvd decrypter this time and am in the process of trying the re-encode again.

I assume you are using the Pro edition? Both handle angles -- but the Pro edition does it much differently (better).

Yes - pro edition.
After re-ripping with dvd decrypter the dvd-rb completed without error.

Good news. Just my opinion -- but I think AnyDVD is a good investment for anyone who wants to get to a point where they simply rip-and-forget. All these problems I've seen reported with other decrypters, and I (using AnyDVD) haven't experienced a single issue like any of these in years...

It is very, very definitely worth the small amount it costs.

I have no financial interest in AnyDVD -- but I know good software when I see it. JMHO

And if you want it, you better buy it before Jan 1, when prices go up by a staggering 85% (due to expiration of 20% discount and price rise from US$ to Euros).

I can here looking to ask: Do my friends here think I should invest in AnyDVD given the upcoming "price increase" and omg a search turns-up these recommendations from my favorite people! Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Embarrassing question: As an owner of DVD Rebuilder Pro, and sometime user of DVD Shrink, is there *any reason* to consider CloneDVD which can be had for cheap as part of a bundle purchase??? :o

AnyDVD alone is my recommendation -- get it quick if you decide to, though, there's a 20% discount that ends today.
