View Full Version : what a PAL VCR that can transcode NTSC pure?

Cose i live in EU and the format is PAL i need know if there are a multisystem VCR PAL that can trascode NTSC VHS for capture it via PC.

So the output of pal vcr need to be a pure ntsc signal.


Do you know some vcr like that?

Actually, quite a lot of European VCRs can play NTSC in its native format. They have been around for more than 15 years!

The thing to check is that the NTSC is output in a version called NTSC 3.58 and not NTSC 4.43, otherwise you will only get black and white. The logo on the side of the box will usually indicate this with a large VHS symbol and small NTSC 3.58.

These VCRs don't transcode - they just play the tape in the right way.
