now i´ve been wondering if there is a way to encoode the vobs with dvd2svcd??? i remember there was a function like this in FlaskMPEG but i´d like to use dvd2svcd because it has better audio encoding and more...

or can i create a new ifo file??

please help me cause i don´t have access to the dvd anymore.

rip another IFO that has the same frame rate as Shrek and rename it the same as your VOB files. You don't need to worry about time as DVD2SVCD finds this out for itself. You may have to play with which audio source to try, but begin at 1 and if thats wrong go to 2 and so on. I did the same thing and used another IFO file. At first it didn't register in my head why AZID was failing, but then I figured out that there was no audio at the 1st position that was listed in DVD2SVCD. All I did was pick audio track 2 and it worked fine. Remember all the info listed in DVD2SVCD will be for the DVD that you ripped the IFO from, but that doesn't matter much to DVD2SVCD.

thnx :D for your reply i´ll try that.

and this brings me to another question:

how can i set the star and end point of the conversion?
cause i don´t want to have the credits on my SVCD in order to save space on the CD.

Check out if the credits are in an own chapter. If yes, just unselect the last chapter in conversion-tab.

OK. THNX a lot!

I guess you mean if they are in the last .vob file.
And so it is in my case :D
It´s not all the credits but most of them.

Now I´m waiting to see if this chapters DVD chapters thing works.
Thats one of the features making dvd2vcd KockOut most other Prog/GUI :)

There are two ways I do it when I want to get rid of some or all the credits. The first requires that you have the DVD.
I will rip the DVD with internal routines and if the last chapter is just credits I unselect it before ripping.

The second takes a little thought and may require a tweak and re-encode. I try to figure out what bitrate will make another CD with just a few MB's on it. Then I just don't burn that CD.

Thanx markrb,

thats a good idea and with a bitrate calculator it should not be that complicated to figure that out. I´l try it with my next rip.
Also I must say that since dvd2svcd is working on my machine without freezing I must call it the best ripping/encoding tool on the whole planet.
Even the DVD chapters work on my standalone not to mention the 2 Audio cahnnels for original soundtrack and translation. This great piece of software really ROCKS! :D
