Unable to play VCD movies on DVD player

I ripped some DVD movies and burned them as VCDs (version 1.1 and 2.0). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play them on my standalone DVD player. It is an AIWA XD-DV5004. Is this a compatibility issue? Please advise and thanking you in advance.:confused:

Try a copied music cd in your dvd player if it dont play then your dvd does not support cdr's...if it does play it means you've done something wrong when ripping/burning
