View Full Version : MPEG2 encoded => length became smaller

I don't know if anyone tried yet to encode an MPEG2 instead of a vob....
I used a MPEG card to capture an episode from Farscape (on PAL TV) yesterday and tried to encode it over night with DVD2SVCD.
Everything looked great but when I tested it on TV I noticed that after a while the audio became out of sync. I tried it again with manual muxing and there I discovered that the movie length became smaller!
The original file was about 00:44:11. The encoded file from CCE is now just 00:41:10 - so 3 minutes are missing according to the length. But the videofile is complete!
Does it have something to do how (original) NTSC films are shown in PAL?
I used a PAL IFO file. Could it be that I will have to use a NTSC IFO file?

When I open the renamed file in DVD2AVI it shows:
Aspect 4:3
Video Type: PAL
Frame Rate: 25.000 fps
Frame Type: Interlaced

Any ideas could be helpful..
