Hi
Im trying to use DVDDecrypter to rip an MPEG2 that contains the movies audio+video in the same file. When I try I always get them as two seperate files (demuxed).

Could someone please help me?

Do you mean you are getting demuxed files although Stream Processing and Demux aren't enabled?

Im not sure. All I want is to convert a DVD to a single Mpeg2 containing both video and audio instead of one m2v and one ac3 which is what I get at the moment.

All I want is to convert a DVD to a single...

Tools --> Settings --> IFO Mode --> select None for File Splitting:. Mind you, this is not for filesystems with a 4GB filesize limit (namely, FAT32).

...Mpeg2...

Not. The output will be a VOB file. Maybe you can make do with that, depending on where you want to go from there...

As leoenc already pointed out: Tools --> Settings --> Stream Processing tab --> enter * in the Direct Stream Copy: field, clearing the other fields.

DVD Decrypter will rip a DVD into a single .VOB file, which is basically an MPEG-2. Launch DVD Decrypter, load your disk, then click Mode > IFO. In the right pane, make your selection to rip (By default it selects the largest PGC), right-click and select File splitting > None. Click the Stream Processing tab, check Enable Stream Processing, then uncheck everything except the first two streams, which are the video and the default audio. Make sure Direct Stream Copy is selected, then click the Decrypt button. You only need to change the extension to .MPG when it's done.

Thanks. I have tried to encode this movie a few times now but it comes out unsynced every time. Its synced when I playback the DVD though.

My first few attempts I was using a demuxed source (M2v+AC3) but I was told that the demuxing was the likely source of the syncing error and that encoding from a single Mpeg2 would solve it.

I now have the Video and Audio in one single VOB. When I play the VOB-file in VLC its nicely synced but when used as a source for encoding to WMV in Windows Media Encoder the output is not synced.

Am I missing a step?

Have you tried this idea at all?

I've not used it myself, but, it seems like it could be helpful in your process. Personally, I use VideoReDo in combination with AnyDVD to rip the entire movie into a nice MPEG2 file that's fully sync'd. The new VRD TV Suite is even more impressive in that regard, allowing you to open the video_ts.ifo and to select the stream you want to process. In any case, hopefully that utility will help you out.

Tried it and it produced a nicely synced mpeg. Encoding it right now. Hoping for a good result :)

That's what we like to hear. Hopefully that works out for you.

Im afraid it didnt. The mpeg is nicely synced but once I encode it to WMV it gets unsynced. Ive tried both Windows Media Encoder and Procoder 2.

Would you happen to have an idea about what could be wrong?

Not really. I've never had much luck with WMV. But, if the mpeg is synced it sounds like the encoding process is where the issue lies. There is one thing you could try but I have no experience using it to create WMV. Try the trial of CloneDVD Mobile from Slysoft and see if that helps. Otherwise I'm afraid I'm not gong to be of any help on this one.
