Hey there!

I know that this has been ask before, but I couldn't find a suitable solution.

When I use the Update Feature, MeGUI will always crash while trying to import STx264_v43 and xvid_profiles-02
STAudio_v3 Import works though.

I already uninstalled and completely reinstalled, that didn't help. The error also occurs if I click on Import Profiles and then choose the zip manually.

The error description is: "Cannot find central directory. Source of exception: ICSharpCode.SharpZibLib stacktrace: at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipFile.ReadEntries() ).

Now as I can see it there is some problem reading the zip file, allthough I can't see why (as it works for STAudio). I'm using WinXp, apart from that profiles everythings been updated to the newest version, I didn't move any directories (so he gets the zip files from c/programme/rippen/megui/update_cache

Help pls :)

delete the update cache and try again.

Didn't work

Oh but I just noticed another thing: If I try to open that zip File by hand, there is an error aswell (unexpected end of archive). So there's probably something wrong with the files on the server...

Edit: I went to http://megui.org/auto/stable now and tried to download the files by hand via the browser, THAT DIDN'T WORK either, so these two files are DEFINATELY broken on the server. On the mewiki server aswell!

both files work here... tested with winrar.
something wrong is going on on your side.

VERY strange (I use winrar aswell). Everytime I try to d/l the file (in stable AND dev folder), the STx264 file ends up being 22kb (as opposed to 37kb) and the xvid presets file is 0kb

I quite don't see how that's possible though, if it works for you :/ All the other files work just fine.

i repeated the test and it still works. have you any internet connection problems? did you overclock your CPU? did you test your RAM and harddrive for defective blocks/areas?

I don't encounter any problems with any other site/file even on the same server. Everything works except those two files. My PC isn't overclocked, I tried to save to different folders/downloaded some other files first so the sectors would fill up, no problems, I even tried saving on a different harddrive. RAM seems to be fine (everything runs smoothly and stable). I also tried to d/l with Internet Explorer now (previously I used FireFox), I'm using no download accelerators, my Firewall is set to let thorugh quite everything. I'm puzzeled.

EDIT: I've tried on another PC now, that also runs an other internet connection and amazingly it worked without flaw. I'll have to look into that now... but well, I've at least got the files now :)

just a guess... maybe your ISP runs some sort of proxy server and it has cached corrupted files.

Could be remotely possible. I'll try to go ahead and try to dl the files on another comp on the same internet later this evening.
