You picked the worst possible forum to post this in, really; there's a whole forum dedicated to megui and friends.

Anyway, the fastest way to fix this (it's happened to a few people) is to remove the megui folder completely, download it again and get a completely fresh update.

I think this forum is better spammed to dead with all kinds of MeGUI threads. .... and still NO seriously working version exists.

@avdw: You made your complaints known on the MeGUI development thread and I addressed all of them as well as I could. I understand you no longer use MeGUI; you are free to do so. However, please do not continue to spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt about MeGUI as it no longer concerns you.

@MKVCrazy: MeGUI is hosted on SourceForge. The SourceForge project page is here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/). If you follow the links to the download page, you can get an installer for the latest stable version of MeGUI, 0.2.6.1038. I hope that fixes your problem.

I'm not sure where you got your version from, since we only distribute installers AFAIK. MeGUI isn't yet designed to work with portable installations.

You may be able to alternatively solve your problem by extracting the file, ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll, manually from this zip file (http://megui.org/auto/megui-libs_1028.zip) and putting it in the same directory as megui.exe.

dont trust ANY megui distribution except the one on the SF project page and x264.nl.
megui needs to be INSTALLED to work.

Thx for the infos.

Uhmm . . I don't know if it's the problem with my megui or not but it was working great before. It's in a folder and I can move it to any where I want.

Btw, I downloaded the one that's stable and has installer. I installed that version and when I start it up it asks me to update some of the tools etc. So I press update, but all the updates are fail :(

"Error, original file couldn't backup" something similar to that.

So I ignore the updates and other problem comes up when I try to encode. I don't know if it's cause by the updates or not.

It says in the log tab,

"[Error] An error occurred: avis [error]: unsupported input format (DIB )"

and

"[Error] An error occurred: x264 [error]: could not open input file 'C:\xxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxx\VIDEO_TS\5mins [VIDEO].avs"

MY INFOS.

using x264 (r682) and megui is 0.3.0.1

DGIndex is 1.5.0

if any other info is needed let me know.

I have no idea what to do now.

Can someone pls help me out :S

Thanks for your time.

What happens when you preview the avs file with MeGUI? (Of course, since you're running Vista, it might crash, but that's not what I'm interested in.) The DIB input format suggests either that the output colorspace of the clip is wrong, which is unexpected if you're going from DVD, or possibly that the avs script has errors in it. I think the latter is quite likely. To find the errors, try previewing it in MeGUI (opening the script with the MeGUI Setting, "open preview after avisynth script selection", set to true), and if that doesn't tell you the error or if it crashes, try opening the script with virtualdubmod (http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/).

did you run MeGUI as administrator?
