Hello everyone.

I am trying to transfer the video that were shot with my Sony DCR-HC28.

I do evidenciary support, so I need for the Date & time stamp that is displayed on the bottom of the screen to show when I transfer it into the computer.

I don't need to enhance the video, or do any alterartion to the video.

However, having the capability of cutting out sections of the video is a PLUS, and sometimes enhance the video so the night time video can show up better.

Those are the only Requirements.

I have tried every software there is.
Currently I am using Exsate DV Capture as it is the only one I could find that let me transfer from the DV to the PC and show the time stamps but the quality of the video when transfer is not that great, it looks like it got reduced down.

Does anyone here know of another software of way to transfer the Vid to PC keeping the time stamps and perhaps let me cut out parts of the video that I don't need ?

I am a NOOb in the video and audio world.
Please help.
I am willing to pay for your consultation. (within a reasonable fee) as I don't have alot of money, but I believe people should be compensated for their knowledge.

Thank You.

Use CaptureFlux. (http://paul.glagla.free.fr/captureflux_en.htm) This program needs also DVDate. (http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm) Click on all icons to understand and set the program.
Se to Capture format to DV Type 2 (recomp) and with that setting you have the posibility to "inlay" (add time code) to your final saved avi DV Type. If you have a strong computer and the quality is not very important you can try also to save as avi or xvid with mp3 audio.

You can use our free Enosoft DV Processor (http://www.enosoft.net).

It will add the time/date etc on-the-fly as you capture the video from your camcorder to the computer. It maintains maximum quality. You can capture to Type-1 or Type-2 DV AVI (if that's important for you).

If you try it and have questions about configuring the text positions etc, just ask.

Steven, try DV type2, Divx, Xvid or WMV at different bitrates and be sure to not have dropped frames in the final encodes. If you want to edit it lately, save as DV. If you want only cut, use Divx or Xvid.
I think you have 99 seconds because of the setting called: "Duration in seconds". Or press "Manual".
Make some tests on short clips until you'll find the best settings for you.

Johnny, I'm very sorry because I can't recommend your program because of the SSE2. I just can't install it.

enjoy,
