I've just gotten done building a P4 system, Biostar MB, PA 2.47 Ghz processos, 512 ddr, 2 ide HDs all new. The system running with win xp boots and runs great but, when I put any device in any of the 6 usb hubs it eaither reboots the sys or gives me a unknown device issue. Any Ideas? :mad:

Did you make sure that you have the latest Mainboard/Chipset drivers installed?
Also check for new BIOS updates for your Mainboard, they might have fixed something.
Last but not least, run Windows Update to get all the recent patches.

I also had some trouble to get USB working on my new machine:
After (un)installing the USB drivers manually several times I got it working for some reason...

thanks I'll try that I've updated win xp allready. I don't like playing with bios but , I'll give it a shot:thanks:

I personally wouldn't install any BIOS update, except it really fixes an important problem for me.
Nevertheless you should look for available BIOS updates and check the changelog...

Okay I got my printer, scanner, cad usb keyboard to work but any mass storage devices wont work or lock it up any Ideas :stupid:

Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers?

What chipset is the board? If you don't know, what exact model Biostar motherboard is it?
