Hi all, i had a look at the various sections on here but couldn't decide which category best suited my question so i thought i'd post it here in the general discussion area. If this is not the place to ask, could someone point me in the right direction please?

Anyway, on to my query - pretty self explanatory from the title, but can anyone tell me if there is a tool/program out there to encode DVD files (.d2v + .ac3) to FLV using H.264 via an AVS script? And if so, what is it? :)

Many thanks in advance,
Atephoald.

FLV and h.264 don't go together. You get Spark h.263 or VP6 with flv; if you mean the h.264 support in flash 9 betas, that uses mp4. It's pretty compatible with the common ways to make mp4, aside from Nero's ac3-in-mp4.

If you want something dirt simple, try Handbrake. If you actually need something that encodes to FLV, try MediaCoder.

Ah cool, thank you for clearing that up for me - i am a bit of a noob as you can tell. I'll check out Handbrake.

Handbrake doesn't seem to support AVS as the input source... Any ideas?

Thanks again,

MeGUI is a fan favorite, as well as Staxrip. (MediaCoder, MkvMagic, and others can handle it, check the list in the mpeg-4 GUI forum.)
