View Full Version : Encode to 4:3 and then to 16:9. Any way to save time?

Hi to all and a happy new year.
I'm experimentally using DVD2SVCD for some time now just to get familiar with the options and have this question (among others!)

As I currently own a 4:3 TV I am encoding to letterboxed 4:3 format. But since I will be getting a wide TV soonish it would be nice to have the movies encoded to 16:9 as well.
So I have to ask, is there a way to spare some steps when I am reencoding to 16:9 after I have finished doing 4:3? I know I can spare ripping the DVD, as one can configure DVD2SVCD to start with an already ripped DVD, but what can be done beyond that?
Please explain in some detail if possible as I am still wet behind the ears.

Cheers
