Hi, Derrow - haven't "talked" to you in a while -
thanks for ifoEdit - it is opening up to be a (if not the) great tool in dvd 1:1.
I have finished backing up a movie (Casper's Haunted Christmas) - were I took everything off except the main movie. The end result plays fine on the PC (using WinDVD), but on some standalones (I tried on a couple of Pioneers), whenever there is a chapter break, the movie stops for a while, and then continues; on other players (I tried on a Panasonic), the player simply refuses to go beyond the chapter break, and stops playing altogether... I tried running ifoEdit (ver 0.8) again to see if I had missed anything (GET VTS), but it shows that there are no corrections needed... do you have any clue what might be causing this?
on an aside, I was playing with another movie (Gulliver's Travel) which has one large series of VOB's (1 thru 8), with 2 main movies and one "extras" built in (it is not a simple matter of just converting one set of vob's) - I backed up using smartripper's "movie" feature, copied the VIDEO_VTS.* files, had to demux the video and audio, but could not find any tools that allowed muxing back again the AC3 files - my workaround on this case was a crude way: converted the AC3 to WAV, used myDVD to create a new "DVD" file using both the mpg and wav files (they were out of sync), copied the original vob files unto the ones created by myDVD, and then re-edited the .ifo files (using ifoEdit) to make the audio portion correct (by using wav, I could only get a 2 channel PCM file, but the original movie was 6ch, so by looking at the original .ifo, I figured out which HEX address to change) - it worked perfectly - a bit of work, but maybe another way of using your program for some unusual DVD's.
anyway, keep up the good work, and I am anxiously waiting for your newest version.
