View Full Version : Strange burning/playback problem

I just installed a new DVD writer which is a Sony DRU-840A. I have tried Nero 7, TDA, and CloneDVD to burn DVD projects, ISOs, and data discs on my Legacy DVD+RW. While they can be read on the computer, I cannot get them to play back on any DVD player, the disc could not be detected.

I have used these discs as test discs for years, erasing each time and each time they worked on the DVD players. Until I changed the DVD writer, it doesn't work now for some reason. But it can be read on the computer, so it's not a matter of what brand of discs I have.

However, when I burn to them again using ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP, it plays back on the DVD players! I am wondering where the problem lies and hopefully fix it so I can burn DVDs with what I normally use. If this helps, here is what DISCINFO gives me (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/Yakusoya/dvdwriter.jpg).

Edit:
Nevermind, my second burning using CDBurnerXP produces a working disc that doesn't playback on my DivX player.
