Hello,
I wasn't exactly sure where else to go to ask this question, but this forum seemed like as good a place as any to start to find someone who is well versed in AVISynth.
I've just been discovering the joys of AVISynth over the course of the past 24 hours, and I must admit, I like this program - it's very versatile, and works quite well for what I'm using it for.
There is, however, a question I would like to ask ... I have to say I'm not really fond of the sharpen and temporal smoother filters that are built into AVISynth - I've been doing a lot of playing as far as changing values in the script and whatnot - but I just can't get the final product to look like my final product looked using VDub frameserving to Panasonic - and I'm fairly certain that it's because of the smoothing and sharpening filters. What I would *like* to do is to be able to access those basic VDub filters in AVISynth, much like I access the hue/saturation/intensity filter - so far, that's the only VDub filter I'm using.
I've looked through the vdfilters.avs file that labDV very kindly has supplied on their website, and, as I expected, it only contains the more esoteric filters available in VDub.
I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination (heck, writing the .avs script reminded me how much I sucked in programming in high school ... :)), so I looked through the vdfilters.avs file in the hopes it might give me a clue how to write a filter for these two basic VDub functions, and I'm afraid it all went over my head quite badly. So, I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me in this regard. I've read through the AVISynth docs that Ben has written up, and those are also rather badly over my head, and I'm not sure where else I can turn to.
So, if *anyone* can provide *any* insight as to where I can go or what I can do about this little issue, I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for your time,
Grace Wong
