I hope someone can help me? I have been trying to rip the movie Meet The Robinsons and have not had any luck. I used Ripit4me, and all seemed to go well. However when I open it with dvd shrink, I received this error
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open file c:\MEET_THE_ROBINSONS_US\originalIFOs\TS.VOB.
The system cannot find the file specified.
I then used vobBlanker and got this error that I've never had before and don't know how to proceed?
There are at least one ILV cell. The VTSs containing these cells have been marked as skip. You can process them, but playback problems can appear in all PGCs originally containing ILV cells except the first one.
If i don't process them, dvd shrink finds errors, and if I do, the dvd skips. Please Help?

Hi!Failed to open file c:\MEET_THE_ROBINSONS_US\originalIFOs\TS.VOB.
1) I'm fairly certain the filename is "VIDEO_TS.VOB"
2) I'm also fairly certain that you've somehow misdirected DVD Shrink to the "originalIFOs" subdirectory, whereas, it should be looking one level higher in the directory structure ("MEET_THE_ROBINSONS_US") for all of the .VOBs, .IFOs, and .BUPs

And that message is normal for VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) - it does not process Interleaved Units. If you wish to remove interleaving, use IfoEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/IfoEdit) - VOB Extras.

Hi everyone. I tried to use ifoedit but know nothing about the freeware enough. When I try to play dvd through ifoedit, I get an error stating that 2 out of 3 DVD-VIDEO streams failed to render properly. -VIDEO STREAM, and -SUBPICTURE STREAM. I tried to follow the Idiot guide to IFOEdit, but both, VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO, and VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO, have 8 AUDIO, and 24 SUBPICTURE VTS files. I Have no idea what i'm doing and how to get rid of ILV Cells? Please help?

You need to strip the unwanted ILVUs. Click on VOB Extras. Then ensure ILVU is checked and select the PGC you wanna keep.

Doesn't VobBlanker ship with a tool that can strip the unwanted ILVUs?

Yes. It is called del_angles.exe. Load up the appropriate IFO and choose the angle you wish to keep. Then hit ok.

But not all ILVUs are angle blocks.
See here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84097) for how to do an IfoEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/IfoEdit) mock strip. Eliminating the ILVUs is just another tick on the VOB Extras box and is pretty intuitive (check the remove ILVU/angle box in step 3).

Does IfoEdit have many bugs when it comes to touching a DVD structure?

But not all ILVUs are angle blocks.

Fascinating. I wasn't aware of that. Thanks!

@linx05 - hardly any at all. There was, IIRC, some issues with vanishing cell commands but I canlt remember the precise circumstances - search the IFO/VOB Editors forum for more.

I'm trying to decode Meet the Robinsons as well using DVDDecrypter v3.5.4 in file mode. Everytime I hit VTS_06_1.vob it throws "Pack header not found" warnings. I've tried ignoring them but the get unrecovered read errors.
Is there a setting I should change or should I try another program??

If you want to use DVD Decrypter, I would suggest that you find a copy of RipIt4Me which will make it more useful on newer protected titles. This will take care of your problems with this movie. Otherwise if you want another freeware application you can use DVDFab HD Decrypter. If you want a pay product AnyDVD is a great product to use. I'm sure others have different recommendations based on what they use, as well, but, DVD Decrypter alone is not really enough these days.

That did it! RipIt4Me created a PSL and the rip took with no problems!

Just be aware that there is one, and currently only one, known protection out there that R4M can not deal with and never will be able to. Other than that, you should have no problems with it.

You may want to watch the rip all the way. I used AnyDVD and DVDecryptor a few weeks ago to make a HDD backup of the movie for my HTPC and about 3/4 into the movie it starts overs from the start of the movie.
