i'm posting this message here because I'm awed at the talent and knowledge of the people that contribute to this forum.

we are beginning to encode a large amount of films to wmv for a new service about to launch. We are using open source workflow (avisynth et al) as tools.

i'm having trouble finding freelancers and possibly full time staff to hire that understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various filters, tools and codecs that are hotly debated in this forum. The problem is many of the post production people that i've talked to understand sophisticated final cut pro methods, or the expensive "push button" encoding softwares, but it's the "hobbyists" that really push the limits.

if someone could suggest industry forums or publications to post "wanted" ads or anyone wanting to pick up some extra $ in Los Angeles, please pm me. We are absolutely not interested in outsourcing.

thanks....
