I frames and mkvmerge

my setting for I frames is : 250 for keyframe interval

can I lower that so " mkvmerge GUI " can be more accurate when I want to split a file

ir is there a better way to increase the number of I frames

x264 will use a keyframe on every scene change, so you should be able to split on every scene change

is that not enough?
