Hey CWR,

It's actually not a rental, it's a membership website (www.cardrunners.com) and their videos don't work with Macs as the DRM requires WMP11.

My lappy is a Mac and I'd simply like to watch the vids on the go.

So, here's my original post:

---

I'm trying to remove the DRM from video files that are protected by EZDRM licenses. I have mirakagi and FairUse fix-2, however mirakagi isn't finding any keys in my keyring. If I click "Recover Keys" in FairUse, it simply crashes (this is probably because mirakagi isn't finding any keys for it to recover?).

My WMP IBX is 11.0.5721.5230,

No, here's a copy of your original post:I'm trying to remove the DRM from video files that are protected by 2-week EZDRM licenses.Once a moderator has closed your thread for an apparent rules violation, it may not be a good idea to try and re-post a "modified version" of the same question...

By the way, the following information appears in the FAQ at the "cardrunners" link you've provided:Once downloaded, you can access the video offline for 14 days before you are asked to renew the license. You must have an active subscription to obtain a license.

Legally, you don't own the video. You have merely purchased the right to view it for a limited time. It is effectively a rental. We do not give help here for copying or breaking protections on material that you do not own.

Nevertheless, I will seek clarification on this from Doom9. If he rules it is OK, then I will reopen the thread.

@fux0r

The ruling on this is that you may remove the DRM on this material but when you no longer hold a valid license, you must delete any copies you have made.

But fux0r, you need to follow our normal channels for challenging moderation decisions. Reposting a topic that has been closed is a violation of rule 16 and you should consider yourself lucky not to have received a strike for that.

It is not a solution, but do you ever consider dual boot?

@fux0r: you'll need to do a bit of reading, but I believe your solution lies in this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114916
