Low resolution converter--does it exist?

I have a 36in gateway destination monitor that has a max resolution capability of 600x800. I'm using a network terminal that does not allow me access to change the display settings. Is there a converter that I can run my vga signal through that will convert it to a lower resolution??

What the? Does someone have a gun to your head and won't let you change the resolution? (There is someplace you can access the display settings.)

You can use a VGA scaler (a scaler plus an adaptor would give you lots of options) but you'll spend a bunch of money for a lousy picture. In other words, what you want to do is a bad idea.
