Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a solution to a problem that drives me crazy, I've looked a lot and read all I could find, but still haven't managed to solve it. I'd appreciate it a lot if someone has any ideas.
The problem is as follows:
I have a DVD standalone burner, and I use it to burn our home movies from the video camera, and an occasional program on TV. It works well with regular DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs, but when I try using double layer DVDs I can't finalize them. If I try to finalize, the disk is ruined, and I can't see it even in the standalone itself.
I'm using Verbatim DVD+R double layer media.
When I tried using software I downloaded to finalize those DVDs I couldn't - both DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn can't do the "close disk" or "close session".
I copied what some of those programs I tried "said" about one such DVD:
ImgBurn:
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H44N RB00 (ATA)
Current Profile: DVD+R DL
Disc Information:
Status: Incomplete
Erasable: No
Free Sectors: 15,872
Free Space: 32,505,856 bytes
Free Time: 03:33:47 (MM:SS:FF)
Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):
Disc ID: MKM-001-00
Book Type: DVD+R DL
Part Version: 1
Disc Size: 120mm
Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified
Number of Layers: 2
Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP)
Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit
Track Density: 0.74 um/track
First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608
Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607
Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519
When I try the "close" option the error message is:
"Session Fixation Error - Incomplete Track in Session"
DVD Decrypter writes the same things.
DVD Shrink won't read the DVD, says "no disk" in the drive.
IsoBuster can read it, calls it "open session", and shows
ISO, UDF and IFO icons. When I try extracting the ISO volume the program starts working, but then I get error messages almost immediately, about sectors that can't be read.
Does anybody have any advice for me?
I am sorry for the lengthy post, but I thought I'd write all the information I have to avoid misunderstaigs.
Thank you very much for your help!
