Just got hellsing ultimate volume vol.3 limited edition and seen as the two discs are dvd5's and because geneon usa are exiting the anime market i want to make backups so not to damage the originals.

Heres the problem when ripping i get a error saying "on-the-fly ifo/bup file patching failed then the file name then reason:invalid ifo/bup"

The discs have no marks on them what so ever but i did look on the disc and theres 3 hidden files...

autorun.inf
RGASDEV.SYS
ZJHXR8CI.EXE

when searching goolge i found a this link
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1033830

Is this error im getting caused by these files and if so how do i make a backup ?? ripit4me ?? use file mode instead of iso mode??

Hi!

One method is to use RipIt4Me SPECIFICALLY as follows:

1) First start RipIt4Me

2) Select either "Wizard" mode or "One-click" mode

3) Then load the DVD

So i'm not actually using ripit4me to do the ripping ? so once i've loaded the dvd i just rip as normal ? if so would it be better to use file mode so that the backup doesn't have those 3 files on ??

So i'm not actually using ripit4me to do the ripping ?Yes, you will.

Perhaps I should have added a #4 - Then continue with RipIt4Me, as usual...

(Those files are not in the "VIDEO_TS" folder and won't be copied)

Just gave it a try and i still get that error message on VTS_05_0.BUP and VTS_06_1.VOB.

Ripit4me gave a message saying that autorun would be stopped, but once the disc was in i had to switch drives in ripit4me, does it have to be set to the drive the disc is going in before the disc is loaded?

Heres part of decrypters log...

does it have to be set to the drive the disc is going in before the disc is loaded?Yes

Apparently you haven't gotten the gist of my directions - RipIt4Me has to be ENTIRELY set up (ready to "rip" from an already specified drive and to an already specified hard drive location) BEFORE you put the DVD in the drive...

OK, just tried again and had the drive and hdd set so once the disc was in all i had to do was click next, then create psl etc.... and still i get the same error.

Altough the said files are in the ripped directory.

Its version 1.7.1.0 of ripit4me.

I 20:56:25: The rip seems to have been aborted, RipIt4Me cannot continue

It appears that, for some reason, you chose to abort after an apparently successful Step #3 (Ripping by DVD Decrypter).

You should have next clicked on "Yes" to perform Step #3B - and then click on "Yes" to use "FixVTS" (If you're using aversion of RipIt4Me earlier than v.1.7...)

Master Yoda
4th October 2007, 22:40
The reason i aborted was because decrypter gave me that on-the-fly ifo/bup file patching failed message. Decrypter had not finished when i aborted.

As an experiment, turn off your computer completely (power down) and then do a coldboot - and then perform all of the steps I previously stated (in the specific order)...

Master Yoda
4th October 2007, 23:25
OK, just shutdown and restarted fresh and the rip went sweet as a nut, something else i noticed before rebooting the ripping speed wouldn't go much past 2x after rebooting it zipped through getting upto about 14x.

After running step 3b and 4 the video_ts.vob and all vts_0*_0.vobs except 2 have been removed, i'm guessing they was not needed.

So thats the extras disc done, just got to do the main disc now.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.As always, my pleasure ;>}

I'd suggest that you once again shutdown and do a coldboot before trying to use the same set of procedures rip the "main disc"...
