Recently on a trip to China I bought a DVD that I wanted to extract some portions of to add to my personal camcorder DV clips. I use Prem. Pro 1.5 for editing.

I have ripped the DVD using DVDFabdecrypter (DFab), after which I found out that the DVD is PAL and is not copy protected. Interestedly the extracted VOB play fine on my computer using PowerDVD. My first pass using DFab I had the setting to ISO, but later I tried File and have both sets saved.

My questions;
1. What can I do to convert these VOB to AVI that I can add to my own clips?
2. In ISO there are 3 different VOBs, but only 2 in File. What does that mean?
3. I attempted to use 123 DVD converter to see if that would help, but NG. Advise?

Thanks in advance for any help!

In ISO there are 3 different VOBs, but only 2 in FileAnd how many .VOBs are there on your original, purchased DVD?

Are the combined filesizes of the .ISO and the "file" version approximately equal - and equal to the original, purchased DVD?

Do any or all versions play properly and completely?

On the orig. DVD there are 4 VOBs in Video_TS. All play OK

The "File" files total same as orig. & all play OK

The ISO files seem to be missing one large VOB but all play OK

Thanks for your response!
