I have some transport stream rips from cable TV that I want to convert to DVD (or DVD compatible MPG) -- a mix of normal (528x480) and HD (1920x1080). What's a good way to do this? I've seen hdtv2dvd, but that seems to create a one pass CBR mpeg which seems inefficient to me. Is there a how-to on ffmpeg (or another tool) to do this with a multiple pass VBR? Thanks.
