Hi!..

I assume there is some AVISYnth magic that can do this, but I will ask here anyway!.. I want to crop the edges off of a Cinemascope movie, and resize it so it is more like a standard 16:9 (ie, a lot less black borders).

Whilst purists might blanch, I don't mind losing some of the edges off of the left and right hand edges of the screen, if I get a whole image that more fully fits my screen.

Can someone supply the exact AVISYNTH commands needed to do this, or is there a better way?

I've been wanting to find out about cropping as well. I have 3 dvds that have perm subs in the bottom bar of the picture. I want to make svcds of these without the subs. Any ideas?

I think the idea of making a 16:9 "pan and scan" out of a cinematic print is scaring too many people away!!!

come on guys!! I know it's uncouth, but can't ya help?

Look in the Avisynth forum.
And It won't be "Pan and Scan" just cropped. You have no way to adjust the way the frames are cut.
