Hello

I am in the process of converting vhs to dvd, up to now i have copied vhs to dv tape and imported into windows media player where i have edited the clips to how i want them and saved them as wmv files.

i have three clips which are to be placed onto dvd for viewing.

What i would like to know is, how can i create chapters for each clip? and what is a good way for me to create an opening menu screen to choose these selected chapter?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank You

Big question.
Okay, step 1 is to convert all of those wmv's to a DVD compatible format.
FAVC or AVStoDVD should work prefectly for you. I think both might actually create a menu automatically for you.

In terms of chapters, you can either do it by hand, have the programs mentioned above do it, or, as I like to do, use HCenc to create my chapters file.

Frankly, FAVC and AVStoDVD are you best bet. They pretty much do everything you want automatically.

Also, there is AVI2DVD, DVDFlick, and DVDForger. All are good strong programs, see which you like.

You can also use a standalone DVD recorder and hook it to the VCR. Depending on the model and brand, the recorder should allow you to specify chapter points, titles and menus.
